[In gangsterland, "odd" tends to mean "incredibly suspect." Which tends to mean "you're probably going to get whacked very soon." Firo tries not to think of the very bad feeling in his stomach right now. All he can do now is try to play it cool.]

Nick. Valentine. Don't know if you've met him, but you can't miss him. His face is falling off and he has glowing eyes. It looked like all the rest of them had their hands full with you. Do they know you got away?

Oh, him. I've seen him around before, yes. Maybe it's worth following up on him to see just what he really was thinking.

I'm sure they'll realize I'm gone sooner or later. It depends on how relaxed they get with this new god's arrival. The change is very nice, wouldn't you say?

[Firo has no idea what Nick was thinking when he went easy on him, but he doesn't expect that Nick'll be quick to do him a favor again. Heck, maybe the reason he went along with Firo's suggestion was to get him in bigger trouble later.]

I don't think it will be too hard to avoid them for now. There's only a dozen or so in total. They'll have a hard time scouring the entire city.

I'll let you know when the fellow I'm staying with wakes up. I wouldn't want to disturb him. I'm sure he'd be up for a game or two too. :)

Have a little more faith, Firo. The little trick to get bullets I came up with worked for a while. When I told you we'd see about getting you a gun, I got you one in the end, didn't I? Trust me when I tell you it won't be an issue.
